Back in the days, I did posts like this nearly every single month. This won’t be happening again, but I think I will do this every now and then, whenever I feel the need to remark outstanding songs, that I feel like playing several times a day.
The first song I really have to call here, is a synthwave one. I am listening to this genre for quite some years now but last was quite a development in popularity. The song I am talking about is “Running In The Night” by FM-84 featuring the voice of the amazing Ollie Wride.
I really like the atmosphere this song is expressing. The official clip really adds to that retro feeling and somehow it makes me think that I had my teenage days in the wrong decade. Those were the days guys. Lyrics were emotional without the feeling of irony songs are delivering these days. The perfect arrangement of keyboard sounds, perfect beats and synthesizer drums. Those songs are delivering some kind of naive and innocent way of living which makes the whole genre very, very likable to me.
For the next song, let me stay with synthwave for a bit longer. If you liked the last one, you will most likely also like this one.
“Bad Dream Baby” by September 87 again has an amazing video and catapults directly back to the 80s. I really like the perfect arrangement that suits those awesome vocal parts. Even though I usually dislike saxophone tracks, this one fits in perfectly.
If you know me in person, you will know that I do not like to restrict myself to a specific area. Whether this is regarding music, nor other things in life. People might shake heads for this ridiculous looking jump in genres, but here I stand, giving you advise to give this japanese rap song a listen:
Japanese rapper KOHH is giving us quite a good lesson in life. Kyou shindara dousuru? – What would you do if you’d die tonight? This is quite a message which also defines my way of living these days. It’s a more direct way to express “live every single day as if it’s your last”. Since I got used to that motto, I am a different person. As cheesy as it sounds, it makes me feel like I am wasting less time of my life to think about decisions rather than doing whatever the fuck I want to do.
So yeah. Here’s three songs I am listening to quite often at the moment. Give them all a go and let me know what you think.
